1 Acceptance of Terms & Candidate Eligibility
By accessing, registering with, or submitting engineering deliverables to Karvaan Labs ("Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), you ("Candidate", "User", or "Participant") explicitly agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms in their entirety, you must refrain from utilizing our services and registering for assessments.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age or possess the requisite legal consent from a legal guardian within their relevant jurisdiction. You affirm that all information provided during registration—including legal name, contact credentials, academic status, and portfolio identifiers—is authentic, current, and verifiable.
2 Proof-of-Work Evaluation Rubric & Submissions
Karvaan Labs operates an authentic, deliverable-driven assessment framework designed to evaluate practical engineering competencies. To successfully conclude an industrial sprint assessment, candidates must:
- Complete and deploy a minimum of three (3) required production deliverables from the five (5) sprint tasks outlined in their chosen engineering track.
- Supply verifiable, public GitHub repository URLs demonstrating atomic commit histories, descriptive pull requests, unit/integration test suites, and clean architecture documentation.
- Publish proof-of-work demonstration write-ups or deployment artifacts on designated professional networks (e.g. LinkedIn or personal portfolio domains).
Evaluations are administered by technical assessors utilizing standardized multi-point rubrics measuring concurrency boundaries, system resilience, security hardening, and code maintainability.
3 Code Authenticity, Plagiarism & AI Usage Protocol
Karvaan Labs enforces an uncompromising standard regarding software integrity and intellectual honesty:
Original Authoring: All submitted code, architectural diagrams, configuration manifests, and documentation must represent the original work of the candidate. The unauthorized replication, copying, or cloning of existing open-source repositories or peer submissions without substantial algorithmic innovation is grounds for permanent exclusion.
Generative AI Policy: While modern developer tools and AI coding copilots are recognized within industry practice, candidates must demonstrate profound, firsthand mastery of their submitted codebase. Submitting wholesale AI-generated code without comprehension, structural adaptation, custom unit tests, or the ability to defend implementation choices during technical review constitutes a breach of this protocol.
4 Cryptographic Credentials & Verification Rights
Credentials issued by Karvaan Labs are protected by a unique cryptographic Certificate Identification number (e.g. KL-8F3K9P2M) recorded in our immutable verification index:
- Credentials confirm that the named candidate demonstrated verifiable competencies matching the rubric standards for the specified discipline as of the date of issue.
- Prospective employers, universities, and recruitment partners possess perpetual, unhindered access to independently verify credential validity via our public portal at https://karvaanlabs.in/verify.html.
- Any digital alteration, physical forgery, or unauthorized reproduction of a certificate or verification payload invalidates the credential.
5 Intellectual Property Rights
Candidate Code Ownership: Candidates retain 100% full intellectual property ownership, copyright, and patent rights over their submitted software codebases and application repositories. Karvaan Labs claims no ownership over your original algorithms or creative work.
Platform Content: All curriculum briefs, assessment challenge specifications, rubric criteria, educational texts, graphic marks, software architecture diagrams, and brand assets displayed on karvaanlabs.in are the exclusive proprietary property of Karvaan Labs and protected under copyright law.
6 Performance Honors & Fast-Track Technical Interviews
Candidates achieving an aggregate rubric evaluation score of 90 or above qualify for the Honors Credential and gain eligibility for fast-track interview scheduling with our network of hiring partners.
Fast-track qualification provides direct access to scheduled 45-minute technical review sessions and priority portfolio forwarding. However, hiring decisions, compensation packages, and employment offers remain exclusively at the discretion of individual hiring partner organizations. Karvaan Labs does not guarantee employment offers or specific salary figures.
7 Operational Fees & Certification Disclaimers
Core platform registration, track exploration, rubric review, and initial sprint project submissions are provided entirely free of charge. Where applicable, optional fees for expedited review, physical credential dispatch, or institutional administrative attestations are non-refundable once human evaluation commences, as outlined in our Refund Policy.
Karvaan Labs operates as an independent technical evaluation and skills-verification authority. Completion of training tracks or issuance of certificates does not confer academic degrees or accredited collegiate credit unless expressly stated in an official university-partner memorandum.
8 Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimers
The platform, assessment modules, and verification services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Karvaan Labs disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In no event shall Karvaan Labs, its directors, evaluators, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your access to or inability to access platform services.
9 Credential Revocation & Account Termination
Karvaan Labs reserves the unilateral right to suspend candidate accounts, disqualify active sprint submissions, or permanently revoke issued cryptographic credentials under any of the following circumstances:
- Evidence of code plagiarism, proxy submissions, or third-party contractor completion.
- Intentional submission of malicious binaries, vulnerabilities, or exploitative scripts.
- Misrepresentation of candidate identity, academic affiliations, or prior work experience.
- Harassment, abusive conduct, or derogatory communication toward evaluators or staff.
10 Governing Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or relating to these terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in West Bengal, India.
